Responsibilities as Head of Indirect & Projects Purchases: › Responsible for indirect purchasing spend of approximately $14 million annually. › Led the procurement of pharmaceutical plant ‘Astola’ of approximate $300 mil. spend. › Revamped the purchasing process by introducing VMI for marketing/promo purchases, blanket purchasing for engineering spares, setting up scorecards & KPIs, due diligences for new vendors, etc. › Conducted multifaceted capital equipment negotiations on costing, logistics and commercial terms such as managing back to back and local LCs; maximizing custom duty savings by taking advantage of various international trade agreements, concessionary SROs, leveraging relationship with local manufacturers, etc.

IHCC ltd is a Jeddah based construction company with focus on turnkey solutions in health, education and real estate sectors in Middle East and Africa market. Responsibilities as Head of Procurement › Responsible for revamping the procurement department with annual spend of approx. SR400 million – leading a team of 6 culturally diversified individuals. › Devised procurement vision and strategies based on principles of being a) externally focused b) internally connected c) transparent d) agile and e) value driven. › Implemented continuous improvement processes focused on maintaining efficient supply base, expanding knowledge by participating in trade fairs/exhibitions visits, leveraging SRM, etc. › Defined & streamlined P2P procedures, defining KPIs, quarterly feedback process from internal customers, etc. › Procedures set up for having honest, fair and ethical treatment with our suppliers – this includes defining our SOPs, internal audits, supplier pre-qualification, etc. › Implemented value driven strategies such as long-term agreements with major suppliers, creating functional experts, cost saving tracking, etc.

Also assigned for purchase of some raw material commodity purchases. › Initiated long term purchase contracts for regular purchased goods & services, resulting in massive number of PO reduction giving savings on man-hour reduction. › Participated in value driven projects to rationalize the inventory for spares. › Led SRM process for key suppliers in my Capex & NIP domain. › Yielded annual hard savings of £350,000 from strategic negotiations, using low cost alternate sources and by generating competition using ePASS.

› Responsible for contracting and procuring Logistics services in Pakistan and Gulf for land transport, sea & air freight and warehouse services. › Detailed SLAs with logistics partners adopting best industry practices. › Responsible for spend of $8.5 million. › Negotiated & executed complex contracts with custom clearing agents, logistics & warehousing for Pakistan & Gulf market with break-through reduction in costs. › Provided support to P&G distributors in Pakistan (Abudawood) for downstream logistics to setup their warehouse and land transportation network. › Initiated, lead and executed very creative projects like 60’ trucks, Road-train, tax-salvation, shuttling, etc. to achieve savings of around $2.3 million annually. › Managed strategic suppliers to ensure accordance to business continuity plans. › Long term business strategies developed for P&G logistics in Pakistan and Gulf after due diligence on supplier analysis, need analysis, industry & economic analysis, competitive analysis etc.

› Responsible for procurement of engineering stock items from global suppliers. › Executed projects to optimize MOQ for purchases along with warehouse team leading to significant savings in inventory costs. › Led project to revamp the supply chain of goods received from foreign sources. Introduced freight forwarders thereby reducing logistics costs. › Responsible for procurement of services, plant machinery and direct charge items at best possible rates from local market, worth Rs.60 million annually. › Led a six-sigma project for reduction in PR-PO cycle time by improving in-house procedures.

› Coordinating with different stations in the gas field for their capex/revex budgets and ensuring their proper tracking throughout the year. › Preparing contracts for miscellaneous civil work outsourced to third party agents and supervising its implementation. › Resource planning in line with operation schedules.
