I started my career with Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Heavy Engineering (Shipbuilding) as an Graduate Engineer Trainee and went on to hold the key post of Assistant Manager within 4 years of joining the firm. During my tenure at L&T, I got the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and large projects, valuing ~200mn $ and above. Some of my key achievements in those projects are as mentioned below: Prepared Statement of Requirement, schematics and specifications for electrical systems and carried out 3D modelling on CATIA platform. Developed several macros in Excel and AUTOCAD to automate processes associated with generating schematics and specifications. Achieved ~30% reduction in the production cycle time by leveraging Virtual Reality to convert designs and pre-meditate errors/issues. Optimized inventory usage by ~20% by developing cable routing macros integrating Excel, AutoCAD and CATIA. Spearheaded the engagement. Achieved ~40Cr cost reduction for Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) project by managing and driving reverse auctions with ~ 60 vendors across the globe using ARIBA. Ensured 98% timely receipt of materials ~Rs.36Cr (IB Project) by coordinating with ~20 stakeholders. Developed Vendor ecosystem around the firm's physical locations to reduce overall transportation time, minimize manufacturing delays and track quality, optimize the inventory usage and improve inventory turnover. Carried out Vendor Negotiations with a diversified vendor base to reduce procurement cost and ensure timely delivery of inventories, in Ship Repair, where projects are of high revenue, narrow profit margins and shorter turnaround time. Involved in Proposal Engineering by working closely with vendors on Cost Estimation and with other cross functional teams within the firm on developing Bid documentation.
