August 2014 - February 2015: PowerBI.com Responsible for developing user experiences around dashboard and getting data in Microsoft Power BI. January 2014 - July 2014: Power BI iOS app (Iris) - Lead a team of 6 developers to build the iOS app for Power BI - As a technical lead and project manager delivered the app by setting realistic schedules, keeping the team on track and handling cross-team collaboration - Transitioned the iOS development to Israel Dev team. Helped to ramp up 40 first time mobile developers in Israel by having hands on lab and knowledge transfer sessions on architecture, quality, telemetry and performance August 2012 - December 2013: Worked on mobile apps for Power BI for Office 365 - Built various prototypes using Monotouch, C++, Javascript and iOS technologies - Ramped-up shell team on various iOS topics - Worked on adding landing page, adding & removing favorite reports, navigation between different pages of the app, transition animation between pages, branding changes, settings pane & the initial implementation of the authentication for iOS app. - Prototyped various ideas with designers and PM to add compelling features that are intuitive & usable. March 2012 - August 2012: Mobile BI Apps September 2010 - February 2012: Microsoft Power Query (formerly Data Explorer) Power Query provides an innovative way to gain new insights from the data you care about. It lets you discover relevant data sources, enrich data by combining with other sources, and then to publish and share. Worked as a front-end developer, building user interface features using Javascript/JQuery and HTML/CSS, features include editing & refactoring of mashup documents in Power Query and providing file management functionalities for the documents. Built an Power Query's Office add-on that integrates Power Query into Excel to import data that is mashed up. When this project was in incubation phase, I rapidly prototyped several ideas which helped the team to decide on the final design. Received a Gold Star (It is a Microsoft reward, awarded to those with extra ordinary contributions to the business) July 2009 – August 2010: SQL Server Modeling Services (M Developer Services for Visual Studio) Modeling Services enables you to more productively build and manage data-driven applications. Worked on Intellipad, a basic text editor designed for developers and customized by users in a natural way. Also worked on supporting Visual Studio experience for M development using the Intellipad control to provide language services for M and worked on supporting deployment features which enables deploying M-defined schemas and instances to the database. March 2009 – June 2009: Oslo – Modeling Platform (M Language) M was a language that helps people create and use textual domain-specific language and data models. Worked on the backend of M language, to generate T-SQL from M and loading the generated T-SQL script to the SQL server.

Personal Dietary Assessment Using Mobile Devices Designed and implemented an image segmentation algorithm to identify different food items from a meal which can be used to estimate the diet of an individual. Designed a prototype of the User Interface for the mobile application using C# for the Windows Mobile Devices.

Position measurement using Optical sensors Worked for the Google Maps street view team. Designed and implemented an optical based position measurement system for tracking the position of a scanning platform. Optical Sensor ADNS 3080 was used for the position measurement.

Implementation & Optimization of Video Decoders on QUALCOMM DSP Processor Implemented standard video decoders (Windows Media Video 9 and Real Video 9) on the QUALCOMM DSP Processor. The implementation design flow was derived so as to get an optimized code in terms of memory and cycles.

A Watermark Scheme, to detect Manipulations of Faces in Videos Designed and implemented a Watermark scheme for integrity protection of videos with faces. The extended set of Haar Like Features was used for face detection. A binary feature mask was generated from the face detected and embedded as a watermark using Watermarking by DCT Coefficient Removal method.

Speech Coding using Linear Prediction Linear predictive coding a model-based type of speech coding technique was explored. The Center-Clipping pitch detector and the Harmonic Product Spectrum algorithm were used for the pitch detection. Linear prediction and pitch detection algorithms are used to encode and decode speech signals. Scene Change Detection and Face Detection in a Full Motion Video Locating and tracking human faces is a prerequisite for face recognition and/or facial expression analysis. Scene change detection and face detection in a raw format video has been implemented. The principle of Twin Comparison Approach is used to detect the abrupt and gradual scene changes and for face detection the Skin Color Modeling and Template Matching approach is used.
