Lead the strategic process of defining the Product and Technology Staging/Innovation Roadmaps across all corporate brands (Sonetics, Flightcom, Firecom), then ensure we bring those products and services to reality. The key product is a line of portable wireless, hands-free, full-duplex team communication systems designed for demanding, high-noise environments, including first-responder, flightline and military applications.

Projects included managing full engineering development of a smartwatch product line, NPI integration of a footwear-based activity tracking product, Engineering and NPI Operations for a wearable start-up, EE design of an industry-leading VR/AR headset and development of a DSP-based audio optimization system.
Managed the product development team and process that translated Nike Sport Research Lab innovation projects into the complex Nike+ connected wearable/fitness products that shaped the market. Directly managed large, multi-disciplined global engineering teams that launched the Nike+ Basketball and Training product lines. Integrated all engineering activities with global CM, supply chain and NPI. Coordinated all product validation, including algorithm verification (motion, mode-of-movement and biometrics).

Directly managed a cross-functional engineering team and also served as Project Manager in the development of high-performance multimedia projectors. Directly managed the creation of a custom optical engine and several demanding thermal management systems. Managed the product development of the world’s first DLP-based projector (LP-620) and the development of a high-performance audio subsystem in partnership with JBL.
Mechanical/Product Design Engineer in the high-performance Mac desktop group, then selected to be the PD technical lead for the first multimedia Mac (Quadra 840A/V). Promoted to manager and lead the PD team in the development of the first PowerPC microprocessor-based Mac’s (Quadra 8100). Recognized with Society of Plastics Industry design award for internal chassis on Quadra 840A/V, also received Recycling award from Machine Design magazine. Design simulation and validation using Ansys FEA, MoldFlow, FlowTherm CFD and experimental EMC numerical modeling.
