During this period, I created and launched The Tarr Group, specializing in performance-based internet marketing, marketing services, and marketing management for high tech companies. This included serving as a Senior Director of Demand Generation or Head of Marketing for several clients. I eventually expanded the business as Multiplied Marketing to take on larger clients such as Adobe, BMC Software, and e-MDs. Throughout, I oversaw project management, marketing strategy creation, campaign design and management, reporting, budgeting, staffing, sales support, content development, metrics, and more. I supervised marketing managers, analysts, copywriters, web developers, email marketing managers, outsourced contractors, and client teams, and administered budgets up to $15M. Selected Accomplishments: • Increased qualified leads 38% and reduced marketing expenses 18% in 7 months for a large software company by designing an integrated online marketing campaign that included SEO, PPC, special events, website design, marketing automation, webinars, direct mail, and social media. • Cut KPI reporting time 50% at BMC by implementing new dashboards, reports, and procedures. • Reduced cost per conversion rate from $86 to $44 (49%) for Technollo, a startup company. • Expanded Technollo’s channel partners from 1 to 5, resulting in 2.5x revenue growth. • Created corporate communications, branding, and positioning plans for several clients. • Prepared white papers, press releases, web content, and email messaging to increase visibility.
