Post the NewBay acquisition, I relocated to the BBRY/QNX office in Vancouver, and was selected to manage a major strategic program for RIM - a global BlackBerry Cloud for BB10. I had a dual role: Director and senior program manager. Reports include technical managers, project managers and their respective teams. In this position I leveraged my experience in delivery and operational management of large-scale cloud services, DC/infrastructure build-out, SDLC management, android/iOS/BBOS/Windows/MAC client development. Responsibility for several direct reports (sr. managers/managers) and their teams: • Data center/infrastructure buildout. DC/Platform/Storage/Network. • Database Team - Oracle, MySql, Hadoop (for analytics), Cassandra. • DevOps team - Delivery automation, service deployment & integration in private colo & AWS. • Data Protection Officer. NewBay Software was an Irish startup delivering social networking gateways, telco blogging platforms and telco cloud solutions, which was acquired by BlackBerry. I joined while NewBay was still a few folks, and helped grow the business through wearing many "hats" - technical team management for systems engineering, software engineering, network and storage engineering, software deployment and automation, as well as technical project management, technical account and sales meetings with existing and prospective customers. Under BBRY, my responsibilities remained similar but expanded significantly in scope, with expanded teams, and the addition of managing a major strategic program for a BlackBerry Global Cloud.
