Director of Purchasing within the DENSO North America Purchasing Group that operates in a matrix organizational reporting structure focused on a corporate centralized procurement approach. Multiple roles within global purchasing but my primary responsibility is for the North American Thermal Division including direct production parts, raw materials and indirect items (MRO) totaling over $1.2 billion in annual spend. IATF certified processes that include supplier development, supply chain risk management and collaboration with other automotive divisions for global strategic sourcing. Responsible to lead a diversified team for launching new product, supporting mass production manufacturing activities, corporate budget coordination and associate development.

Responsible for all aspects of Supply Chain Management including strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, parts procurement, logistics, inventory management in the warehouse, packaging, receiving for production parts, indirect materials (MRO) and services. Developing associates and identifying business opportunities for the entire corporation which includes multiple manufacturing locations throughout North America. Initially started with responsibility for just strategic sourcing activities but additional responsibilities continue to be added for the entire supply chain as I have proven to drive positive results. Corporate supply chain activities including strategic sourcing direct & indirect products & services, supplier assessment/ performance, supply chain risk mitigation, ISO9001 certified processes with a goal to be as Lean as possible, logistics coordination and new product introduction launches. Establish and implement initiatives that provide methods to obtain departmental goals and corporate objectives. Be a business leader first to also aid in new business development and lead efforts to support corporate directives that go beyond the supply chain. Develop appropriate actions that add value to the organization and provide recommendations to the executive team.

Responsible for establishing the strategic sourcing of certain production part commodities and lead a team of Purchasing Agents. Utilize cost models, total cost analysis tools and commodity sourcing strategies to negotiate mutually beneficial business relations with suppliers. Support continuous improvement initiatives primarily with developing the supply chain with a strong focus towards processes based on the Toyota Production System. Some responsibilities included strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, helping launch 2 new manufacturing facilities, parts localization from Japan, utilizing cost models and implementing commodity source strategies (story boards) that drove towards immediate benefits and long term results. Helped establish processes that are TS16949 and ISO14001 certified. Led multiple new product launches for the Supply Chain group for reputable customers like Toyota, Honda, General Motors, Ford and Mercedes Benz.
