As an Instrumentation Engineering Technician for Tesla. I support a wide range of vehicle and component level testing and enjoy being part of a constantly changing and challenging environment. Areas of Responsibility: *Instrumentation Support for Safety Testing. (Passive, Static, Crash Barrier, ADAS) *Instrumentation Support for Vehicle/Component Durability and Reliability Testing. *Instrumentation Support for Manufacturing and Prototyping. *Instrumentation Support for Engineering. *Equipment and Calibrations Management. *Support testing using industry specific software and equipment. (DTS, SOMAT, DEWESoft, INSTRON, IPETRONIKS, Peak, Kvaser, TITAN, PCAN ect.) *Implementation and install of instrumentation. (stain gages, RTD's, load cells, accelerometers, string-pots, WFT's, T/C's, ect.) *Provide guidance and leadership for entry level technicians and new team members. *Provide training for all technicians and equipment training for new engineers. *Engage with test engineers and test planning teams to insure proper test instrumentation selection and help set schedules to insure test equipment availability for all test customers. *Read and interpret schematics, datasheets/manuals, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches. *Test documentation via JIRA, Confluence and other resources. *All other duties that may pop-up. (general "wire ninja" or "electron wrangler")

As an Instrumentation Tech for Tesla I support a wide range of vehicle and component testing. Everything from factory opertations to prototype testing. And all things in between.

This position was in the Proto-type shop for The Chassis-Controls-Integration Team as an Engineering Technician. A great experience with a really good group of Engineers and Mechatronics Technicians. My main responsibilities were: *Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to other technicians for new component integration. *Proto-type hardware install. Which consisted of electrical and mechanical modifications as needed to facilitate Proto-Type hardware install into both Mule and Production vehicle as well as installation documentation. *Fleet vehicle maintenance. *Logistics support for the Team. Which consisted of coordinating parts,tooling and vehicles shipped to various test site through out the United States. *And various other duties to support Test/Team goals.

*Setup and preparation for physics experiments. *Electro-mechanical maintenance and equipment operation. *Vacume system maintenance and operation. *Cryogenic system maintenance and operation. *Data/experiment and system monitoring via GUI's and various computer softwares. *Records keeping and reporting for all systems related to Cryogenic systems and target operations. *Maintain proper and quality work practices. *Insure good team communication through out experiment process. *Communicate with engineers and experiment team to insure quality of data.

Responsibilities: *Digital data acquisition for weapons testing. (Pressure transducers, sound meters ect) *High Speed video setup, collection and review. *Remote video setup and operation. (high speed, standard, PTU and software controlled) *Safety/situational video setup, collection and review. *Data monitoring and collection for environmental conditioning chambers. *On sight and post test data review to ensure data quality. *Wireless equipment setup and operation. *Repair and trouble shooting of electronics related to data collection and test range operations. *Responsible for maintaining calibration cycles and records for all calibrated equipment. *Ammunition pre-ops and build-ups. *Perform A gunner duties on various weapons systems. *Chronograph operation and data collection. (muzzle velocity radar)

Responsibilities: *Data collection and instrumentation for DOD standard vehicle safety testing.(lane change, braking, run flat ect) *Data collection and instrumentation for a wide variety DOD standard vehicle testing. (RMS,RAM, Model validation) *Data collection and instrumentation for hot and cold chamber testing. *Data collection and instrumentation for dyno motive testing. *Mobile dyno operator and data monitor/collector. *Work with Test Officers and Engineers to insure proper transducer and sensor selection for proto-type instrumentation setups. *Plan, design and install new vehicle instrumentation packages. *Install of instrumentation of all types. (strain gauges, flow meters, thermocouples, Load Cells ect..) *Maintenance and refurbishment of existing instrumentation packages. *Responsible for insuring calibration cycles of all equipment used. *Responsible for proper documentation of tests performed. (calibration records, test plans, photos , reports ect..) *Repair and trouble shooting of electronics and electrical components of all kinds. *Data acquisition and analysis. *Wireless data acquisition/video equipment setup and maintenance. *Provide on the job training and supervision for junior technicians. *Design and fabrication of new equipment as needed (brackets, enclosures, electrical boxes, wiring harnesses ect). *Basic programming with the use or industry specific software. *Basic networking with I.P. based equipment and software. *Responsible for acquisition and recording of onboard vehicle data, CAN Bus, vehicle sensor data, gun positioning data. (specifically MRAPs, MATVs, JLTVs, Stryker's, FMTV's, PIM Paladins etc. )
