Briefly responsible for technical operational excellence at Deltatre OTT, including the management of the team of technical directors and the AWS ops team.

Massive Interactive was acquired by Deltatre in 2019 Lead the development and operations of a global live / VOD sports platform for a major sporting client (DAZN). Ensure that platform is available, secure, responsive, resilient and continually developed to meet client's and client's customer's requirements. Key client technology contact, working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels, up to CTO. Grew team to around 100 technology staff of various disciplines (architecture, development, dev/ops, ops, QA, SRE), in order to migrate from monolith to NodeJS/Go microservices oriented platform, built microservices and SRE teams from scratch, introduced devops practices into teams with teams fully responsible for their services. Ensured that our API and living room device development teams worked to the same standards of engineering excellence, that scalability and availability targets were met. Developed the solution from being able to land a few thousand users to a few million over a 10 minute period. Extensive experience of Amazon Web Services, from managing a global cloud software platform, advising on the design of AWS based services to working closely with other technical stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure solutions meet our clients’ expectations.

Senior technology leader role, covering all aspects of technology department within R/GA EMEA Create innovative technology solutions and processes in response to RFIs and RFPs, pitch to prospective clients, work with external technology teams to onboard R/GA into client solutions, estimate and defend the cost of delivering technology solutions. Manage the R/GA EMEA near-shore development team, conduct 1-1s, plan learning and development, conduct reviews and line manage staff. Work directly with clients to ensure that R/GA is their trusted technology partner, communicate technology choices and project progress and drive new business opportunities through those relationships. Introduce new standards and processes, so that tech leads could understand the framework in which development work was to happen. Introduced the use of new and existing tools for continuous deployment and automation. Architect and oversee the development of client projects, from novel solutions to BAU maintenance. Delivered using a variety of technology platforms including React, NodeJS, Adobe Experience Manager, SaaS vendors (Shopify, Auth0, Apigee, Chargify, Contentful, etc.)

Led the Creative Technology department of around 20 developers and QA staff, providing digital build services to other M&C Saatchi companies (LIDA, M&C Saatchi Worldwide etc). Jointly responsible (with CIO and Operations Director) for P&L of ~£2m. Developed a number of processes for delivering software in a repeatable manner. Acted as escalation point for the department, dealing with, and resolving a number of people and process issues.

Responsible for all technology aspects of a client group within AKQA. Technology oversight for a number of client projects – from architectural decision making to resourcing – working with development leads to make sure projects were on track and within budget. Worked directly with client technology stakeholders to make sure that AKQA’s solutions met client technology requirements (eg PII, security, performance). Was an integral part of the new business team, designing technology solutions for RFP responses and pitches and building relationships with client technology stakeholders in new business situations. Member of the technology executive and line manager for other senior team members, mentoring junior technology department members. Jointly responsible for setting AKQA’s technology direction. Responsible for conducting interviews and selecting candidates.
