BreakLine is an education and hiring initiative designed to prepare top veterans for careers in technology. The approach combines intensive, graduate-level classroom instruction with hands-on projects and professional networking.

The altMBA is an intensive, online workshop founded in 2015 by bestselling author Seth Godin. It is designed to accelerate leaders who are change agents for the future. In 2018, students from 27 countries worldwide participated. Each session of the workshop is led by a cadre of coaches, who engage with students in individual and group work. During the workshop, each student publishes the results of the 13 assigned projects on the public altMBA site. The program is synchronous, with regular deadlines, group discussions, and face-to-face video calls. It is entirely based online. Attending students include, managers and leaders at large organizations, as well as entrepreneurs and freelancers. We also invite rising leaders of important NGOs or brands including Kickstarter, Nike, Microsoft, Lululemon, PwC, Johnson & Johnson, Whole Foods, Coca-Cola, Hallmark, Chobani, The Red Cross, Sony, charity:water, and more.

Led day-to-day planning and logistics of a cross-functional team reducing costs by 20% and workload by 15%. Researched and developed proposals to help partners expand the IT Advisory practice line to include IT Internal Audit, IT Compliance Reporting, Emerging Technology Risk, and IT in External Auditing work. Conducted a diagnostic assessment of 60 key criteria areas to prepare a late-stage digital marketing startup to issue compliance reports, meeting critical contract requirements ahead of schedule. Evaluated the security and privacy risks of connected devices for a multinational durable goods manufacturer to help expand their appliances into emerging markets.

Tested significant controls related to financial reporting, resulting in the completion of government compliance reports, validating management’s financial assertions. Analyzed and developed reports relating to IT strategy, cloud computing, and business analytics to help clients better understand their IT systems and risk management processes.

Planned and implemented training for reserve unit, resulting in the qualification of all trainees and achievement of standard benchmarks. Lead trainer, including coordinating logistical and technical requirements and ensuring qualification of other SEAL trainers.

Responsible for daily planning and coordination of a 100+ person team, including logistics and communications resulting in successful completion of 50 missions.
