Founder and Chief Executive Officer of social enterprise, Roka, which aims to break the cycle of poverty in rural India through economic empowerment of women & education. Roka was established as a social business in order to utilize women, a highly underused resource, to both empower them and raise their status, but to also help break the cycle of poverty for their families. The products produced by Rŏka are jewellery pieces that are hand-made by the women of Maranahali Villages in India using a granite dust clay which is taken from the quarry they live and work in. The use of the granite dust clay provides a unique piece of jewellery, as well as utilizing a source which is freely available to the women as the dust is a waste product from the laborious mining of the quarries. Roka employs Indian women, providing them with economic empowerment & personal pride, & as a result they are able to subsidise the running of 40K PLUS education pods, to provide literacy, numeracy, & life-skills education to their children, & all the children in the villages. Through the 40K Group, and partnerships with Australian Universities and TAFES, 'Roka Projects' are run which empower young Australian's to be a part of social change. They learn about social entrepreneurship & about the potential to make a difference. The idea with Roka Projects is to train up young people in addressing social issues through an entrepreneurial lens, & to utilise their collective knowledge to impact real change. www.rokajewellery.org

Was selected as a member of the Official Australian Government Delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Worked as an Advisor to the Minister, Ambassador and the delegation for the two-week Commission at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Completed my engineering honors thesis on the 'CFD Study of the degree of shear-stress induced alterations in platelet function caused by the impeller of the BiVACOR® Biventricular Artificial Heart' I utilised ANSYS CFX to model the internal impellar of a BiVACOR artificial heart to determine the shear stresses induced on the blood during levels of operation.

Was employed and trained by the University of Wollongong as an In2Uni mentor. This involved me mentoring groups of disadvantaged high school students every week, in which I help them with university based projects, whilst also encouraging them to further their education and attend university once graduated from high school. I directly mentored over 120 kids, facilitating engineer, business and basic entrepreneurship, and science based projects with them on a weekly basis.

Helped design, establish and run the 'Yes WE Can!' Girls in engineering program, a hands on worlshop conducted at highschools to educate young girls on engineering, and to encourage more girls to consider a career in engineer and science. Program is still running through the University of Wollongong, with female engineering students now running the program each year as part of their credited degree. Supported and backed by the University of Wollongong.
